AMCLASS® – Automated Audiogram Classification System
AMCLASS is a system of rules for classifying audiometric results based on configuration, severity, site of lesion, and interaural asymmetry. Air conduction audiograms are classified based on configuration, severity, and symmetry. If bone conduction thresholds are available, site of lesion is determined.
A validation study was conducted to compare AMCLASS with the categories selected by a panel of five expert judges. Category definitions were designed to maximize agreement between AMCLASS and the consensus of the judges. Agreement between AMCLASS and the consensus of judges exceeds the average agreement between pairs of judges.
